DESCRIPTION:
APW - E. Howard & Co, Boston, Series II, 15J, N-S (just over 19S), silver OF original E.T. & Co. (likely E. Tracy & Co.) case, white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#2601. A scarce early watch, the total production of the Series II was approximately 1200 made with serial numbers ranging from approximately 1800 to 3000.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, small dark spots to right perimeter of barrel bridge, some mild small spots elsewhere to plate surfaces; dial with small faint hl near 1, small hl above seconds-register; fine hands, hour is an original polished spade style and has a small bend, minute is a replacement that has been altered with its spade polished and then touched on the tip with blue paint in attempt to better match the other; case shows ample wear, fine scratches and shallow dents to rear, engine turning detail largely lost with only some small portions remaining lightly evident around center, outer rear leaving narrow gap to band along right side when closed, cuvette with some play at its hinge and is opening and closing loosely; bow pivots freely; good glass crystal.
